Dr. Susan SHELMERDINE

Dr Shelmerdine is an academic pediatric radiologist and honorary associate professor at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health in London, UK. She completed her radiology training in the UK, and has undertaken two pediatric radiology fellowships one at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London and the other at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. After her training she successfully completed a PhD at UCL on the topic of perinatal post-mortem imaging.

During her doctoral and postdoctoral research, Dr Shelmerdine continues to be actively involved in postmortem imaging and reporting across a variety of modalities for perinatal and childhood deaths, both from a medical, forensic and coronial standpoint.

She is a member of the ESPR task force on postmortem imaging and has delivered several lectures on the topic, including contributing to ESPR post-mortem imaging workshops
