Mr. Mike Lai have retired but was rehired by Hospital Authority as the Senior Radiographer of the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital. He was graduated with distinction from the Institute of Medical and Health Care of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1984. He obtained his master degree in MRI imaging from the University of Ulster. Currently, he is the Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists, council member and director of the CT Faculty of the College.
During the past thirty and more years, he has been working in CT and MRI imaging. Developing new imaging protocols and optimization of imaging techniques. He has special interest in providing education and has been invited as a part time lecturer of the Hong Kong University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Macau Polytechnic Institute and the Chinese University of Hong Kong to deliver lectures on CT and MRI imaging.
As an invited speaker, he has presented lectures on a wide spectrum of topics including CT angiography, CT brain perfusion, Pelvic MRI imaging, Radiation dose reduction and optimization of contrast medium for imaging studies.
Local published work includes original articles on topics of emission tomography and direct radiography systems. International peer-review journal includes topic on radiation protection for Paediatric brain CT.
