Prof. Stéphanie Franchi-Abella received her medical degree from the University of Paris-Saclay, France, where she completed her residency in radiology. She joined the paediatric diagnostic and interventional pediatric radiology department at Bicêtre Hospital (Public Hospital of Paris- Paris-SaclayUniversity) in 2001 and was appointed Head of this department in 2022. She works in close cooperation with paediatricians, especially hepatologists and surgeons. Her two major clinical activities are paediatric and fetal abdominal diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology.  Her research activities focus on paediatric liver transplantation, congenital hepatic vascular malformations, paediatric tumors and development of imaging biomarkers for liver disease such as liver and spleen elastography and fetal liver imaging. She is a co-fondator of the International registry for congenital porto-systemic shunts. She serves in several societies and task-forces and is the European Society of Paediatric Radiology treasurer.
